Marks Bistro Dundee Omaha

Too many restaurants in Omaha and it is hard to find one that's really stand out from the crowd. You might not believe this, Omaha is not a big city like Los Angeles or New York, but definitely not small. Omaha along has 800 plus restaurant. Just go to one restaurant per night and wouldn't come back to the same one for 2 and a half year.

Last week I tried a very elegant restaurant in Benson/Dundee area in Omaha, Marks. Even though the sign just say Marks, I found their website name Marks Bistro. Marks is a very romantic place with many decorative lighting hanging by the stair and around the seating / dinning area. Once you walk up, you can see the patio separate each section by wooden divider, that is different than the other restaurants here in Omaha. Depending on where you are seating, each area has a different atmosphere.
This is my first time dinning at Marks and I came with 4 of my nieces that been there before. Before I went there, I did a quick look at the dinner menu, so that I don't have to spend too much time on deciding what to eat. I find that I have problem on choosing stuff. Often time we spend over half an hour to decide on what to eat.

Well, everyone know time is money, right? I initially decided on eating the Smoked chicken lasagna. Lasagna is one of my favorite, I don't get to eat it very often. I don't make it at home as no one will eat it at home. It's not that because it taste awefull, it just people at home are dead set on Asian food and not too keen on western style food to begin with.

I found out from the waitress that the fall menu just came out 2 days ago. After hearing from my nieces of their past experience of the restaurant. I decided to order the lobster and bay scallop risotto, mac and cheese, and smoked chicken lasagna sharing between me and my 2 nieces. The food looked great.

Good and Bad Customer Service

What is good customer service and what is bad?

There might not be a black and white answer to this. People have their own objective opinions by comparing to their past experiences.

I personally experienced bad customer service yesterday. I went to the new Scooter Coffee on 180th near Dodge twice today, because they offered $1 for all medium drink at their grand opening all day . I went the first time knowing that there's going to be a lot of people out there, but I still managed not getting any drink both times. I understood if I went at 3:30 pm, right around the time with all the student getting out of school would probably had more than 30 people in line, but I went at 8:30 pm the 2nd time and there were less than 10 people in there. The young lady sat outside the door turning everyone away. She said they are closed and refused to serve me and my kids. The girl worker said they had enough people in the shop for them to make drinks until 9 pm. The Scooters Coffee clearly stated on their official Facebook page on responding to one of their questions, stating the new location is closed at 9 pm.

My husband also works in a customer service field at a restaurant and it closed at 9:30 pm. He never turn people away at 9 pm and telling people that he has enough people to serve until 9:30 pm. In fact the restaurant that he works at does not turn off the "Open" sign until the time is exactly at 9:30 pm. Anyone who came in at 9:29 pm, he still let them in, doesn't matter if they are going to order to go or to stay. He still has to stay there until everyone leave. I guess some people are more dedicated to their job and some do not.
